OL 730-5
Silicon UV-Enhanced Silicon Detectors
The OL 730-5A and OL 730-5C UV Enhanced Silicon Detectors are 1 cm², high impedance, low capacitance, planar diffusion photodiodes. These detectors, which are sensitive over the wavelength range of 200 to 1100 nm, exhibit superior uniformity over the receiver and are linear from a few femtowatts to a few milliwatts. The maximum incident irradiance level is 10 milliwatts/cm². Thermal stability of 0.1% per °C for wavelengths below 1000 nm is typical.

OL 730-TE
Thermoelectrically (TE) Cooled Detector
The OL Series 730-TE Thermoelectrically (TE) Cooled Detector Packages are designed for making broadband measurements with radiometer/photometers, such as the OL 730A, OL 730C, and OL 730CV, or lock-in amplifiers, such as the OL 730D and OL 4000. The OL 730-TE Cooled Detectors can also be used for making spectral measurements with spectroradiometer systems, such as the OL Series 740 and 746. The standard BNC signal output enables the OL 730-TE Detectors to be used with a variety of other instruments as well. Measurements can be made over all or part of the wavelength range from 0.8 to 5 µm depending on the detector selected.
The OL 730-Ge, OL 730-InGaAs, OL 730-PbS, OL 730-PbSe, and OL 730-Si TE Cooled Detector Packages consist of the OL 730-TE Cooler Controller and the Thermoelectrically Cooled Detector. The OL 730-XX-C refers to the spectrally calibrated version of the detector.
Circuit assemblies include a thermoelectric controller card located in the OL 730-TE Cooler Controller and detector interface board located in the Thermoelectrically Cooled Detector. The OL 730-TE Cooler Controller is capable of accepting any of the Thermoelectrically Cooled Detectors. All cooler reference settings are controlled by the detector interface board. This enables multiple detectors to be used with the same OL 730-TE Cooler Controller.

OL 740-17
Thermal Detectors
The OL 740-17 is a moderately sensitive, broadbanc pyroelectric detector. The spectral response is relatively constant over a wide wavelength range. The pyroelectric detector has a 5 mm diameter, blackened lithium tantalate crystal and a high-sensitivity current mode preamplifier sealed into a TO-99 transistor housing with an infrared transmitting KRS-5 window.* This preamplifier converts the extremely small AC current signal to millivolt levels suitable for voltage mode amplifiers. The detector is stable, non-hygroscopic and relatively insensitive to ambient temperature changes. The detector is mounted in an acoustically dampened housing.

OL 740-18
InSb Detector
The OL 740-18 InSb Detector is a high-sensitivity infrared detector for use over the 1.0 to 5.5 µm wavelength region. It has a peak response at 5.2 µm. For optimum performance, the detector is operated in the photovoltaic (zero bias) mode and liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooled to 77K. The 2 mm diameter detector element is mounted in a metal, side viewing dewar with metal-to-metal seals for high vacuum integrity and reliability. The dewar is mounted in an anodized aluminum housing with a standard 1.5 inch detector port, CaF2 field lens, and BNC signal connector.

OL 740-19
HgCdTe Detector
The OL 740-19 Mercury Cadmium Telluride Detector is optimized for use over the 8.0 to 14.0 µm wavelength region; however, it can be used to wavelengths as low as 1 µm. Other versions of the OL 740-19 can be supplied which are sensitive out to 22 µm. The biased HgCdTe detector has a low impedance and is operated in the photoconductive mode with an AC coupled, ultra low-noise preamp (OL740-19A). The 2 x 2 mm detector element is mounted in a metal, side viewing dewar with metal-to-metal seals high vacuum integrity and reliability. The dewar is mounted in an anodized aluminum housing with a standard 1.5 inch port, Kbr field lens, and BNC signal connector.
